Read Jonah 1:17-2:10.
Lord, You know how distracted I get in prayer, especially when it is time to repent. Suddenly, I hear every bird chirping. Appointment details hijack my mind. Other times, I get so wrapped up in praising You that I fail to repent. In praising You, I speak what You already know is true about Yourself. You also want me to tell You what You know is true about me. After I have prayed desperately, praised truthfully and promised sincerely, may I not leave Your presence until I have repented thoroughly.
