INTRODUCTION

•  Handel's “Messiah”: “For Unto Us A Child Is Born”
• The lyrics are lifted directly from Isaiah 9:6.
•  There are several names listed in Isaiah 9:6.
•  Scholars are divided whether there are five names or four.
•  Based upon my research, I'm comfortable going with five.
• Let's consider the first name, “Wonderful.”
• The individual referred to in today's verse - the child, the son - is Jesus Christ.
• If you are a regular attendee at Apollo Assembly, you hear me ask occasionally, “How wonderful is Jesus?”
•  There is a reason it gets quiet
•  “Wonderful” is a loaded word.
