What The Bible Says About Syria (Part 4)

This post concludes a four-part series on last Sunday's sermon at Apollo Assembly of God.

Christians must respond appropriately to the situation in Syria.

• Pray. Pray for Syria. Pray for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Pray for our Christian brothers and sisters. Their families aren’t exempt from the suffering and carnage. Pray for the Church in Syria, that this will be a great opportunity for them and that they will amaze the world as they love their persecutors. Pray for millions of Syrians to turn to their only hope, Jesus Christ.
• Give. Plan to participate in giving. We can’t say we care, we can’t say our hearts are broken and then do nothing. Those who suffer need relief, not intentions.
• Speak. Many wonder how a loving God could allow such atrocity to happen. How we wish we had a simple answer! We can remind people that, though we don’t understand everything about God, we know this – God is love. He loves the Syrian people and takes no pleasure watching them suffer.
