Thoughts from Mk. 7:24-30 (Part 3)

THE WOMAN LEFT WITH LITTLE EXPLANATION.
Jesus said only two things to her.
  • Go home.
  • The demon has already gone.
THE WOMAN LEFT WITH GREAT EXPECTATION.
  • The word of Jesus was good enough for her.
  • Is the word of Jesus good enough for you?
WHAT DID THE WOMAN DEMONSTRATE IN ORDER TO BRING ABOUT A FAVORABLE ANSWER?
  • She demonstrated humility.  She "immediately came and fell at His feet" (Mk. 7:25).
  • She demonstrated consistency.  She "kept asking Him..." (Mk. 7:26).
  • She demonstrated clarity.  She wanted Jesus to "cast the demon out of her daughter" (Mk. 7:26).  The woman knew exactly what she wanted from Jesus.  Jesus once asked a blind man, "What do you want me to do for you?" (Mk. 10:51).  How would you answer that question?
  • She demonstrated urgency.  Knowing Jesus was nearby, this mother couldn't afford to squander the window of opportunity with small talk.  She same to Jesus with an urgent matter on her mind.  Her daughter wasn't just having a series of bad days.  She was demon-possessed!
