No one got saved yesterday. I’m disappointed. There’s always next Sunday!
In the morning, attendance was 86 (only 14 away from our goal of 100). Sunday School attendance was 55. I’d like to see that hit 75 by the end of 2013. The offering was healthy. Thank You, Jesus! Both guests from last Sunday returned. I preached part 4 in our series called “You’re Invited”. The message was from Jn. 1:1-12a. Jesus’ invitation was “Come and Eat.” We discussed how to prepare to eat with Jesus. There was a higher-than-usual altar response. After the last two sermons, people have come to the altar to stay a while. It’s as if they don’t want to miss anything. There is a refreshing happening.
In the evening, two more first-time guests came to youth group. There were 22 students in the service. They filled two rows. When they left to go downstairs, the sanctuary seemed empty. I’m glad we’re altering our approach to Sunday nights. It will minister more to the faithful attendees. From John 18:37, I preached “What about the King?” The altar response was silence. People lingered in silence as an act of worship before King Jesus. What reverence was in the place!
