The Incomparable Jesus (Heb. 1:2b-4)

Read Heb. 1:2b-4.

What statements!  What claims!  What uniqueness!
"There is none like You.
No one else could touch my heart like You do.
I could search for all eternity long,
And find there is none like You."
  -- Don Moen
1.  Jesus is Heir (1:2).  Heir of what?  Everything He has created.
2.  Jesus is Creator (1:2).  He was there when Genesis 1:1 happened.
3.  Jesus is God's radiance and representation (1:3).  Read also Col. 1:13-23; 2:3,9-17; 3:3-4; Jn. 14:8-10; 1 Tim. 6:16.
4.  Jesus is the Sustainer of creation (1:3).  He holds it all together (so much for Deism).  Jesus stays involved in what He started.  Read Phil. 1:6.
5.  Jesus permanently removed the stains caused by sin (1:3).  He made purification for sins once and for all through His blood.  The effect continued since the initial act.
6.  Jesus sits at the place of honor to intercede for us (1:3).  His purifying work is done.  His praying "work" continues.
7.  Jesus is higher than angels and has the most excellent name (1:4).  One's name is a mark of distinguishment and identification.  It reveals character and expectation.  Read Phil. 2:9-11.
"Jesus, oh, how sweet the name!
Jesus, every day the same;
Jesus, let all saints proclaim
His worthy praise forever."
  --W. C. Martin
Jesus is a better communication than the prophets.  Jesus has a better resume than any coompetitor.  Jesus has a better name than the angels.
