Pentecost Sunday

Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday. It is 7 weeks after Easter. The Church commemorates its founding.

For Pentecostals, this day helps us remember life in Jesus should be anything but usual. Read the Book of Acts. I'll bet you can't turn more than one page without encountering the supernatural. People are healed. Demons are expelled. Angels appear. Visions occur. Individuals and communities find salvation. People are called into ministry. Seekers are baptized in the Holy Spirit. Fasting was common. Prayer meetings were essential.

Pentecostals disrupted things. These radicals rejected the status quo. Location didn't matter. The size of the crowd didn't matter. Threats didn't matter. Polished speeches didn't matter. What mattered was the power of the Holy Spirit.

What started all this? Acts 1 & 2 > Preparing for and receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
