“O Lord, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; nor do I involve myself in great matters, or in things too difficult for me” (Psa. 131:1, NASB 1977).
“ . . . nor do I involve myself . . . in things too difficult for me.” Here is an admission of limitation. Some things are beyond your capacity to grasp. Among them might be receiving from the Lord an answer to the question “why.” When it becomes clear that you aren't going to get an answer, will you still trust Him? To do so, you must make a choice: I will not involve myself in pursuit of this any longer, but I will leave it with the Lord; I surrender my quest to have to know why. Picture locking this question in a safe, then throwing the safe into the deepest trench of the ocean.
Here is your weekly protein.
1. Answer these questions.
Have you been been asking “why”, yet haven't received an answer from the Lord?
What would change if you did receive an answer?
What thoughts or emotions has this unanswered question surfaced within you?
Will you choose to trust the Lord even when He remains silent?
