Read 1 Thessalonians chapters 1-2.
There is no escaping the evidence that Paul loves these people. Consider what he thinks of them, what he says of them, how he acts toward them, how he compliments and praises them. Surely, a heart connection of pastor with people is one of the keys to fruitful and enjoyable ministry. Yes, there will be affliction, persecution and challenge, but through it all you must like and love the ones you lead.
