When You Don't See Jesus (Mk. 10:46-52) (Part 2)

Affirmation #1. I DON'T SEE HIM, BUT I KNOW HE'S NEAR ME.

And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.” (Mk. 10:46).

When Jesus was leaving Jericho, he had to walk past where Bartimaeus was sitting. Bartimaeus knew someone special was nearby, since he asked what the fuss was about. Imagine his delight when he realized Jesus was that close! He couldn't see Jesus, but he knew Jesus was near.

Do you get where I'm going with this? There are times in life when you don't “see” Jesus, so you wonder, “Is He just 'up there' or is He 'right here'?” During such times, you should remind yourself, “I can't see Him, but I know He's near me.”
