You Don't Belong

Photo taken at Presque Isle State Park, Erie, PA    4-22-16
What doesn't belong in this picture?  I'll give you a hint:  It isn't the sand or the picnic table.

What is a bright white windmill doing on a nice beach at a premier state park?  I don't know either. If you have the backstory, please clue me in. There should be a seagull or two in the air instead of a windmill.  If not a seagull, then a kite.

When you look at the world, what stands out?  If you are a believer in Jesus, the answer should be you.  You're not supposed to fit in.  This world is not your home.

  • "For our citizenship is in heaven . . ." (Phil. 3:20).
  • "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world" (Jn. 17:16).
  • "Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul" (1 Pet. 2:11).
  • " . . . for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?" (2 Cor. 6:14-15)
