The Self And Its Practices (Col. 3:9)

Paul wrote, "You have laid aside the old self with its evil practices . . . ."  Don't ignore the word "with."

Laying aside the old self -- we get that.  The past is done.  We're over it, wanting to make a new start. How we welcome new life in Jesus!

Now comes the tension.  We have new life, but the new life requires new living.  The possession must become practical.  It isn't enough to deal with the old self's nature.  The practices of the old self have to go.  We can't live for Jesus while nurturing the practices of the old self.

We claim a born-again experience, but where is the born-again evidence?

How has your life changed since being born again?  How are you different? Be specific.
