Amos' Lion (Amos 3:4, 8, 12)

The dominant metaphor in Amos chapter 3 is the lion.

  • The lion roars because it has caught something.
  • The lion's wrath brings near-total destruction.
  • The time to heed the lion is right now.
It is interesting that both Jesus (Rev. 5:5) and Satan (1 Pet. 5:8) are portrayed as lions.  The three statements above apply to both lions.

Which lion are you serving?

(Oh yes, just so we're clear on this, The Lion of Judah (Jesus Christ) obliterates the other lion.)
