The 120 gathered in the upper room to wait for Jesus' promise (Ac. 1:4). They continued in prayer (Ac. 1:14). Peter got up and started a business meeting. Oh, it was spiritual. He quoted the Bible and talked about fulfilled prophecy. This wasn't evil activity, yet it distracted the 120 from prayer.
When it is time to pray, then pray. Don't make prayer an add-on or after-thought.
