"The Lord favors those who fear Him, those who wait for His lovingkindness." (Psa. 147:11, NASB)
Does God have favorites? Does He favor some more than others? From this verse, it appears so.
He "favors those who fear Him." What does it mean to "fear the Lord"? That's a study in itself, but here we have a partial explanation. When you "fear the Lord", you "wait for His lovingkindness". Why are you waiting for it? Because you expect it and need it. It isn't that God owes you. No, it's that there's a package deal. Favor follows fear.
Read the book of Proverbs. It will tell you what fearing God looks like.
