Breath and Shadow (Psa. 144:4)

This verse reaffirms mortality.  "Breath" and "shadow" are temporary.  Here are four themes to consider.

• Brevity of life.
• Fragility of life.
• Dependency of life.  Breath and shadow depend on outside influence.  Breath comes to us.  It is borrowed.  A shadow is impossible without light.
• Opportunity in life.  The time is now.  You will never have "right now" again.
