Summary of Sunday, October 28, 2012

  • Morning
    • The person I invited came to service.  What a special moment watching God move in her life.
    • Didn't you miss Craig & Natalie's leading worship?  There are those who have an anointing to lead worship.  Others like me do the best we can.  I'm glad I could give them a break.  Craig, you rock, man.
    • Attendance, 84.  Among those 32 were 18 or younger.  That's 38%.  (Come on...is anyone excited?)
    • Don preached from Mt. 24:14, "The End Will Come."  What should we do until the end comes?
      • Rehearse God's promises and believe them.
      • Work out the character expectations in Mt. 5:1-12.
      • Remain invested in missions, both locally and globally.
    • Guests, 4.
    • Nineteen people came to church because of the van runs.  Two van runs means some students and the driver miss part of Sunday School.  Keep praying for that second van!
    • Darlene gave an inspiring presentation about Angel Tree.  Applications are available in the foyer.
  • Evening
    • It was good to have Craig leading worship. His style connects with the youth.
    • Speaking of youth, 3 guests came last night.  Fantastic!
    • Preached from Dan. 2:1-23, "Prayer Is for Mondays."  You can never say, "I've prayed enough."  We reviewed 7 motivations that will stir us to pray more.
    • What a powerful prayer time to end the service!  Everyone went to the east wall and prayed over a piece of land we're going to need for parking.  (God already owns it, so why not?)
