Christ isn't just the One who gives me life. He Himself is my life. Jesus said He is the Life (Jn. 14:6). Christ, my Life, will be revealed. When that happens I will see Him as He is (1 Jn. 3:2). I'll see how He's been at work to make me like Him. I'll see the life that, right now, I question, since sin is such a complicating factor.
Colossians 3:1-4 describes what happened to me positionally, and includes general exhortations ("keep seeking", "set your mind"). I have died to self and sin (Col. 3:3). I have been raised to new life in Christ (Col. 3:1). In between the two I am becoming more like Him (Col. 3:5ff).
