This verse is true in human exchange; it is also true in my exchange with God. He's not interested in the amount of words or their flashy nature. He's interested in simplicity, sincerity and trust. When I speak briefly and sincerely from a confident heart, this catches God's attention.
My King already knows my request (Mt. 6:32). Maybe I enjoy hearing my voice more than His. Maybe my wordiness is a silly attempt to impress God. After all, words take time. (The more time the better, right?)
Just ask. Period. Put it out there. Be clear and concise. Then leave it.
