Recap. 05.15.11

  • A bit of heaviness wanted to set in and take over.  We prayed, praised and preached through it.  (Thanks to those who took their liberty and attacked that thing in prayer.)
  • Attendance, 44.  We had a family of 6 out with sickness.  They are usually here.  Their presence would've meant 50.  Next week!
  • One guest.  She ended up getting saved at the end of service!  That was the highlight.
  • Four attended (mom w/ 3 children) who had not been here in quite some time.  I hope to see them return.  You can never write anyone off as "gone for good."
  • All three new converts from last Sunday were back in church.
  • Two people asked me for Bibles.
  • Preached part 3 in series, "Small and Tall."  Sermon:  "Two Heads at the End" (1 Sam. 17:24-51).  Subject:  Thinking like a champion.  To be God's champion, David had to overcome three kinds of wrong thinking:  sour (negative) thinking, safe thinking and small thinking.  Be a victor, not a victim.
