We're continuing to read through the Gospel of John. Today's reading is John 1:29-51.

Jesus saw Andrew. Jesus sees those who will respond to the gospel message, "Behold! The Lamb of God!" (Jn. 1:36-37).
Jesus saw Simon. Jesus sees who you can become in Him (Jn. 1:42). Oh, to see as Jesus sees, to fully understand your identity and potential in Christ!
Jesus saw Philip. Jesus sees those who are ready to obey and believe (Jn. 1:43). Philip was from Bethsaida, a place known for its unbelief (Mt. 11:21-22). Environment is no excuse for disbelief. Philip chose to believe; he chose to obey Jesus' call.
Jesus saw Nathanael. Jesus sees who you are when no one else is looking. Congruence between the inside and outside cannot be hidden (Jn. 1:47). What a compliment Jesus gave Nathanael! Character matters.
Jesus sees you. How does that make you feel? He sees what's wrong but will love you away from it. He sees what's right and will encourage you further in it. He sees your hardship and has promised to provide (Phil. 4:19). He sees your weakness and has promised to renew your strength (Isa. 40:31).
