• Pentecost Sunday.
• Some who normally don't participate in worship did so today. Wonderful!
• One guest. She's moving to Tonawanda. I'll refer her to the Assembly of God there.
• Started a new series called "Nightmare." Today: "Nightmare on Beattie Ave." It is outright scary to consider the flippancy with which some approach (or not) the Holy Spirit. Defined the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Determined we don't even want to flirt with the outer edges of this unpardonable sin. Text: Matthew 12:31-32. (Watching the congregation jump during the loud theme music...priceless.)
• Attendance: 36.
• Of the 30 adults present, 25 participated in the altar response. Can't remember the last time the altar was so full. Plenty of tears -- tears of repentance, desperation and release. Prayed for many to be healed. One received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
• Special guest prior to service. Lisa discovered a bat in the basement. It was duly excommunicated before service. You never know what you might encounter any given Sunday. Gotta be ready for anything, I guess.
