Seminar on Evangelism (Part 3)

Rev. Steve Danser presented a 3-hour seminar on 3.13.10. These comments are from my notes.

2 Cor 5:11

• Persuasion: directing or turning a conversation
• Introduce the gospel through natural transitions.
• Start from the secular and work toward the sacred.
• Some people haven't yet found their "field."

Zech 4:6-7

• Evangelism is a "great mountain" -- hard but not impossible.
• Evangelism must be done by God's Spirit.
• Don't forget the "shouts of grace."

Jude 22-23

• Two approaches: (1) compassion, (2) fear/truth
• Jn 1:14 > Jesus was full of grace and truth. No wonder He was the world's greatest Evangelist!

Eccl 11:6

• Sow your seed early and consistently.
• Beware idleness or detachment. Don't miss opportunities.
• Mt 13:3b

St Francis of Assisi: Preach the gospel and, if necessary, use words.
