- Desperation. You become fully persuaded your miracle is only in Jesus. Then you cry out to Him for mercy. There is asking, and there is desperate asking. How badly do you really want what you say you do? Would you know it by listening to your prayers?
- Obedience. The ten don't appear healed spontaneously. The record says they were being healed as they were on their way to the priests. The more steps they took in obedience, the more they were healed.
- Testimony. One returned to give thanks. Testimony serves two purposes. It verbally gives God glory and it spreads God's fame to others. God hears the testimony and so do people.
