Things become different when Jesus speaks and we listen.
- At Jesus' word, the crowds receive teaching. He didn't teach just anything. No, Jesus taught what was relative and significant. He taught what He heard from the Father.
- At Jesus' word, you move from the shallow to the deep. Other things can make you religious, but only Jesus' word can make you mature.
- At Jesus' word, all human logic becomes secondary. It doesn't natter what you think. It does, however, matter what Jesus said. Will you submit to His word, even when you don't feel like it? Will you submit, even if you've already tried something similar to what Jesus said?
- At Jesus' word, the routine become spectacular. The men had been fishing all night. Same old, same old. When Jesus said do it again, only then there was an immense catch.
- At Jesus' word, you wont be able to contain the results and neither will anyone else. You will sink under the weight of His goodness to you.
- At Jesus' word, amazement of Him leads to revelation about self. When you see Jesus for Who He is, you can't help but realize you're so different. Jesus associates with sinners and graces them. No wonder Peter was so overwhelmed!
- At Jesus' word, fear is dispersed. "Don't be afraid!"
Have you been leaning on Jesus' word? Someone else's? Culture's? Your own? Read Prov. 3:5-6.
