Esther

I read the book of Esther this morning. Esther is a book that should be read as a whole. It's short enough to read in one sitting. Several things stood out.

• The courage of Esther ("If I perish, I perish.")
• The character of Esther (She totally obeyed Morcecai.)
• The humility of Mordecai (He wasn't a self-promoter and always looked out for the interests of others.)
• Proper timing (Everything has a purpose and a time. God is in control of both.)
• Persecution of the Jews (Unfortunately, this still happens today.)
• Correlation between fasting and feasting
