- The reliability of the author. John is a trustworthy witness.
- The abundance of the evidence. What you read in John is just a smattering, a sample. Jesus did so much more than what's written.
- The adequacy of the record. Though John's account is only a sample of all that Jesus did, enough was recorded to fulfill the divine purpose (Jn 20:31).
- The imagination of the reader. I wonder what those other activities were? What other miracles did Jesus do? No doubt each one was just as spectacular and creative as those John did record.
- The call to passionate worship. Jesus is so much more. Jesus did so much more. His activity was so extensive, so prolific that all the books that could ever be written about Him couldn't be shelved on our planet!
